Cute? Who me? Aw shucks. The innocence is a sham. Don't believe those eyes for a second. We pined for her while we were away. She missed us for about a day and then got over it, ’cause Grama had the treats and filled her bowl! I’m sure she’s well over 80 lbs now. [...] I’ve been a very tardy blogger lately. But I have a good reason! Chris and I just got back from an epic journey with our friend Mike via canoe through Wabakimi Provincial Park, located about 4 hours north of Thunder Bay, Ontario near the town of Armstrong (and north of the 50th parallel). The outfitter's van Now [...] By that I mean I’m still trying to maintain that easy going differently-paced attitude. I don’t want to imply Newfoundlanders are a laid back bunch — in fact they’re quite the opposite. I don’t know if there’s a more hardy, hard-working bunch actually. Perhaps it’s all the hardships they have [...] Luna & Chris enjoying the remnants of a day at the cottage So I’ve been MIA from the blogosphere yet again but for good reason. Firstly, I’ve been migrating to a new laptop which hast taken some time to get my Aperture library moved (and to learn Aperture 3, which has been completely overhauled from version [...] Luna, at 13.5 weeks Yeah, I know, she’s super cute. She’s friggin’ adorable. She’s smart as a whip. Hilarious to watch. But she’s also a bit of a nightmare at times. A nightmare I was so not prepared for. Trust me, I love this creature, most of the time (kidding, kidding). But I [...] I know, I know, it’s only the first week of January; we’ve hardly even scratched the surface of winter yet, but it certainly feels like it’s been going on a while. We spent New Year’s Eve in Ottawa with our friends Bruce and Youngja, where it snowed constantly. It was lovely, and beautifully seasonal, but boy [...] Olympic Torch Relay comes to Bradford, Ontario from Sarah Mulholland on Vimeo. This is really the first time I’ve operated the new camera to take video. Because Chris has been working on a series of video modules for a client, he’s become an over-night expert in Final Cut Pro, so he’s now my official video editor. Apparently [...] Quince jam For months now I’ve been courting the idea of making quince jam or quince jelly from “the bush” on my front lawn. First, I have to explain “the bush”. As I think I’ve mentioned before, we’re living in the house that Chris’s great aunt once lived in, and along with her badly neglected flower [...] I joined Vimeo and posted a silly little video Chris took with the new camera. It’s really of nothing. Just the cat on my lap, but I love the shallow depth of field you get with the 50mm lens. And I love how the sound of the TV in the background and the way it reflects [...] Magoo in his new viking hat Mr. Magoo got an early Christmas present from me this weekend while I was visiting at the farm. His mama was looking for a fun new hat for him and of course the viking hats are super cute and super popular, so I made one special for him that was [...] |
