Hi There, You should check out Jeffrey Hamelman’s book called Bread- A Baker’s Book of Techniques and Recipes. It is a standard reference book for professional bakers written by an amazing man (and baker). Zero pretence and great insight into sourdough baking. Lots of inspiring personal reflections from Jeffrey through each chapter as well!

I’m pretty sure that I did not over bake them. I actually took them out a few minutes early because they were yellowing. hmmm….weird huh?

Hmmm good question. Maybe they are over baking a little bit (sugar will brown as it cooks)? Not really sure!

I just tried this recipe and love it! The only issue however is my cookies do not look like yours do. The icing sugar is a yellowish color when the cookies are done baking. Taste great, but I’m not crazy about how they look with the yellowish icing sugar on them. Any suggestions how to stop this?

More socks than boots, but they’re pretty great. She pulls them off now and then when she steps on them but they generally stay on pretty good.
